Steward’s Middle School embodies the attributes of being responsive, empowering, and engaging particularly well. Faculty regularly implement restorative circles in the classroom to focus on relationships, encourage student voice, and allow for students to have a sense of belonging and fairness. Through student-led conferences and class programs like Trout in the Classroom and the U.S. History Citizenship Project, we allow students to take ownership of their learning and connect their academics to real-world stewardship. With skilled teachers who want to challenge adolescent learners, we utilize Socratic seminars, experiential learning opportunities, and grade-level signature projects to strengthen content mastery and to keep all students fully engaged in their learning and motivated to put forth their best effort.
